With a delicately angular form, the Basalt Pendant is an expression of nature’s mathematical beauty. The distinctive irregular hexagonal pattern is reimagined for the modern interior, seamlessly combining robust materials with ambient lighting to enhance the mood of a space.
 
Inspired by the thousands of extruded basalt columns that make up the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland, Basalt unites translucent mouth-blown borosilicate glass and dimmable LED technology, with a solid stainless steel and brass pendant finish.
 
The interplay between the rough and smooth textured finishes showcase the timeless allure of the Basalt material and celebrate the story of its making. Echoing the natural processes that inspired it, the lost-wax moulded stainless steel and sand casted brass is left raw and exposed on the vertical surfaces, while the horizontal surfaces are cut and polished to create a beautiful visual counterpoint.
 
Each of the angular glass lamps are diligently crafted using a two-part steel mould to create the hexagonal shapes. The glass is then carefully sprayed to create a soft matte-translucent finish.
