Old Parliament House - Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD) is recognised as one of the most significant heritage buildings in Australia. Luxygen was approached to offer a solution for the upgrade of heritage luminaires, including the 5 large pendants and surrounding smaller pendants in the Kings Hall.
This was a challenge project as luminaires were unable to be removed due to their heritage nature and MoAD was still operating public tour groups. All luminaire measurements and structural details had to be taken on site.
Working alongside Shepherd Electrical and Manteena, Luxygen teamed with 3s Lighting to provide the solution which was set by WSP and the MoAD Heritage team. The new LED lighting provides 3000K white light during the normal museum operating hours, but now with the addition of DMX controlled RGBW provide an excellent multi purpose venue space.
